Who is a stakeholder?

Any person, organization or an entity whose interest is affected, positively or negatively, because of the project. The influence of stakeholders is an important issue to take into account in any planning and subsequently during execution of it as well.

A stakeholder is any individual, group, or entity that is affected by or can affect the outcome of a project. This includes but is not limited to clients, customers, sponsors, project team members, vendors, regulatory bodies, and the community. Stakeholders can have varying levels of influence and interest in the project, and it’s crucial for project managers to identify, engage with, and manage stakeholders effectively throughout the project lifecycle to ensure its success. Effective stakeholder management involves understanding their needs, expectations, and concerns, and actively communicating and collaborating with them to achieve project goals.
